The following steps should be done for configuring an session:
•
Define an session name in
"Session Name" field,
like, for instance,
Test Session;
•
Inform server name or its IP Address in
"Host Name or IP Address" field,
like, for instance,
www.inttec.com.br, or 200.187.64.89;
•
Server port number, exhibited on
"Port Number",
is previously defined using default port
(23),
but, other port number can be specified;
•
In case of secure session, select SSL protocol version to be used:
"SSLV2" or "SSLV3".
If it is not known, both should be selected.
•
Terminal type is selected on field
"Terminal Type",
it is the model of IBM Terminal that will be emulated. It is already selected as
IBM-3278-2,
but there are other terminal types that can be choosed on selection box.
•
Terminal netname may be supplied on
"Netname", like, for instance,
GVW00777 . The necessity to supply, or not, this netname, depends
upon telnet server properties, to which the session will be connected.
•
The host code page should be selected on
"Host Code Page" and it defaults to EBCDIC
Code Page 1140, that corresponds to old EBCDIC Code Page 037,
updated to include the Euro symbol (€).
It is selected as default on every new session and cannot be modified.
Other Code Pages will be available on future Tec3270 versions.
The above configurations are enough to have the session defined, and they must be saved
by pressing the
"Add" button.
