  Tec3270 connects any session to an IBM TELNET server, through an TCP/IP protocol based network, so it is necessary to have next items available, before getting started:

  Microcomputer running Windows(Tm) 95 operational system, or later (Windows 98, Windows Me, Windows XP, Windows Vista, etc...);
  An network connection, based on TCP/IP protocol to connect to IBM TELNET server. Any kind of Internet connection may be used, as it is an TCP/IP protocol based network. Tec3270 or any other TN3270E emulator, cannot need wide band connections (like ADSL), so an dial-up connection is enough to connect to desired servers (using or not Internet network);
  IP Address or Internet name of IBM TELNET server to which the session will be connected;
  IBM 3278/3279 emulated terminal model (models 2, 2E, 3, 3E, 4, 4E, 5 or 5E)
  Terminal extended attributes to be emulated (highlighted text, blinking text, colors, etc..);

  These informations must be written to an paper, because they are needed when the session is configured to be connected to IBM host.
