Tec3270 is an TN3270E compliant emulator, that simulates IBM 3278/3279 models and implements the state of the art of IETF(Network Working Group) definitions about this standard (INTERNET-DRAFT draft-ietf-tn3270e-telnet-tls-06 about application level cryptograph using TLSV1), and RFC 2355 - TN3270 Enhancements.

Tec3270 is intended to be used by IBM 3278/3279 applications users, and IBM technical support professionals that maintain IBM mainframes, using OS/390 and z/OS operational system, that connect to them through and TCP/IP protocol based network, over which will be sent and received all messages.

Tec3270 does not have the ability to connect to IBM hosts through SNA proprietary protocol, independently or not of being used an SNA Gateway. So this type of user cannot use Tec3270 to run his or her applications.
